Introducing our New Director to the Secretariat of the Water and Climate Coalition

We welcome Dr. Stefan Uhlenbrook as our new Director of the Water and Climate Coalition Secretariat. Dr. Uhlenbrook has formally taken up this position on the 1st September 2022. Until his appointment, he had been the Strategic Programme Director for Water, Food and Ecosystems at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). We take this opportunity to bid a fond farewell to our Director Dr. Johannes Cullmann who founded the Water and Climate Coalition Secretariat in 2020 and helped grow the Coalition to what it became. We wish him all the best in his next role as the Special Advisor on Sustainable Development to the President of the United Nations General Assembly In New York.

Matthias Berninger

Matthias Berninger (born 1971) is a former German politician and member of The Greens from 1993 until 2007.
From 2001 to 2005, Berninger served as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection under minister Renate Künast in the second cabinet of Chancellor Gerhard Schröder. After leaving the government, he was his parliamentary group’s spokesperson on economic policy from 2005 until 2007.
Since 2019, Berninger has been serving as head of public and government affairs at Bayer.
