Human Rights-Based Water Monitoring to Improve Resilience to Climate Events

Human Right 2 Water

Key words:

Resilience to climate events, emergency planning, monitoring, human rights

Description:

Increase resilience to climate events by strengthening water governance through the human rights to water and sanitation. It will be designed around recent legal research in 25 countries to analyze resilience to climate events related to water and their effects on people. The goal is to work with countries such as (but not limited to) Burkina Faso, Benin, DRC Congo, where climate change is exacerbating existing water governance issues. This program will aim to reduce the impacts of severe climate effects on vulnerable people, and prepare local government to deal with emergency situations, where water and waste-water are a primary concern.
